Acrylic Office Signs & Custom Made Logos
Choosing the right Acrylic Office SignAcrylic logos and lettering are a great method of producing an office or reception sign, and acrylic is widely available in a whole range of colours, sizes and finishes. It also comes in translucent colours which is great for creating lighting effects. Great for displaying a clean, new, modern feel and for providing a splash of colour which brings your office sign to life, acrylic is certainly an option to consider when choosing the right office sign for you. It's even possible to use shiny metal-effect Perspex to simulate a range of metal finishes. Because acrylic is a cheaper material and the maintenance costs are low compared to metal, acrylic is used in all kinds of internal and external signage such as reception signs and corporate branding. Acrylic is a brilliant, versatile material which is made from a bi-product by turning crude oil into petrol. In simple terms, acrylic is a thick sheet of plastic that can be heated to form many different shapes and sizes and can cut to a bespoke design. Used for many applications because it’s so versatile, acrylic allows you to use it in many environments, from shop signs, reception signs to Monoliths. This is the most common signage method used for shop fronts and internal displays. Common brands of acrylic include Plexiglas, Perspex & Repsol which all have a glossy finish. It’s the perfect product to use for achieving an effective and professional look for your shop sign. With your goals and our creativity and industry knowledge, there are a lot of effects, shapes and colours that can be created. Whether it’s just a simple name on an office wall needed or a complex logo, the possibilities and options available to you are endless! |

Types of Acrylic Letters, Logos and other Acrylic Signs
A lot of the office signs we're asked to design are usually made from flat cut acrylic as they're relatively cheap to produce and acrylic is available in a number of colours. We're also frequently asked to produce 3D Acrylic Logos for those who want something that will stand out - literally! Also known as Built Up Acrylic Logos, the manufacturing process is similar to the way a 3D Metal Logo is produced where the logo is cut from a single flat sheet of acrylic using a CNC router which has a large cutting bed so you get the best results and it allows for extra-large letters and logos to me machined. Here are a few common types of acrylic signage:

Perspex Colours Available
There is a vast range of Perspex Acrylic coloured plastics available for your shop letters or logos. If a specific colour is needed then it's likely that we're able to get a close match using an existing coloured acrylic from the Perspex range. If we're unable to get a close match then the acrylic can be painted to achieve a particular pantone or RAL colour.
Installation of Flat Cut Letters
Acrylic letters and logos can be mounted to lots of different surfaces providing the surface is clean and grease-free. The surface doesn’t necessarily need to be entirely smooth either, however this does help and ensures it's displayed correctly. Acrylic Flush Fixing After the acrylic letters are cut to size, a commercial-quality adhesive tape is applied to the reverse side of each letter. Upon installation, the protective film which covers the adhesive tape is removed so the letters can be easily secured onto the surface. An installation template is supplied which is placed into position on to the wall which indicates exactly where each letter needs to be secured. By using the adhesive tape, it ensures a clean method of fixing and avoids any contact with messy glue. The adhesive tape forms a strong bond between the letters and the surface which ensures the letters are firmly fixed for the foreseeable future. Acrylic Raised-off-the-wall Fixing After the acrylic letters are cut to size, a two part wall bracket (known as a locator) is used to securely fix the letters to the wall surface. The male part of the fixing is already pre-fitted onto the reverse side of each letter and the female part of the fixing is screwed onto the surface of the wall with a small screw and wall plug. Upon installation, the paper template is positioned onto the wall which clearly marks out where all the female fixings need to be fixed. Once all the female fixings are in position, the letters with the male fixings connect to the femail fixings. This method of installation allows for the sign to be moved at a later date (providing the template is kept). The fixings ensures a strong fixing for the foreseeable future, however for a more permanent fixing, an adhesive can be used to fuse the fixings together so that they can’t be removed. The distance to which the letters are raised from the wall is between 12mm to 25mm depending on which fixing is used. If a greater distance is needed then please contact us where a member of the sales team will be able to advise you on an alternative method.
